September Art Fair at Mellwoodter at Berea

I will have an indoor booth at the Art Fair at Mellwood on 12-13 September 2015. 1860 Mellwood Ave, Louisville, KY 40206

My philosophy

I have long been interested in the tensions between polished balance and rough asymmetry-- rough sawn or natural textures contrasted with carved or abraded ones. Many of these concerns I can trace to my studies in Medieval Literature at the University of Chicago. I was intrigued by a culture which conjoined “ernest & game”, in Chaucer’s phrase, not to mention art and utility.

I still have several turned ornaments at the Berea Artisan Center exhibit through September 12. I also have a number of utensils at the Elk Creek Winery art & craft gallery in Owen County, KY.
